Some M1 helmets from WW2.
The M1 helmetshell has several variations, from the chinstraploops to the buckles used!
Here, for example, is a helmet which is made by McCord. This is a late WW2 helmet, swivelloop frontseamed stainless steel rim with OD#7 chinstraps and flat stamped steel buckle which is painted black. Note the OD#3 bartacks.
The same type of hardware, but on an OD#3 chinstrap. This helmet is a fixloop McCord.
This variety is made out of steel painted black, but has a raised comb. This is a midwar variety, brass was considered to be a strategic material to be used for the production of ammunution. This is part one: more pictures to come! From the loops to the buckles!
