Vietnam Helmet
I grabbed this at the local militaria show today for $20, so I was pretty happy. 1970 dated Mitchell cover, early 60s/late 50s Westinghouse Micarta liner with a rough shell but fair webbing (it had a mint 1985 sweatband in it but I took that out as it's not right and put it with a mint 1980s liner, and now subconsciously seek a VN sweatband), and strange chinstraps. Looks like someone cut the sewing on the short end to make it long, but what has me baffled is there's no markings or a ball catch on the buckle on the long end? Can anyone help? Hopefully Mike will post his finds too, he showed me a nice WWII liner made para rigger style, and he mentioned a Vietnam para helmet as well.
