I'm not much of a collector, more of a student of history and shooter of light infantry weapons of WW2. I'm one of those people much like yourselves that remembers and honors those who fought for our freedoms. The only M1 helmet that I have sits on my desk. It is a front seam swivel bail pot covered with a replica USMC cover. When I look at it, I picture it on my uncles heads, as one fought his way through the fight to take Iwo and the other as he assulted Inchon, liberated Seoul, marched to the Choesn and then fought his way back to the beach.

As to myself I'm a former USAF officer that spent more days then I would have liked performing nuclear alert duties as a missile crewmember or C2 officer. As a member of another forum everytime I see a pot posted I think of who wore it and where is traveled to.
