Hi
I acquired this liner, a Westinghouse Capac dated 1953, which was in a poor condition and painted green. It needed a complete overhaul, the webbing was rotted so I decided to bring it to its former glory by getting the shoddy paint off and replacing the webbing suspension. When I started to get the paint off, I discovered the liner was painted blue beneath and had the emblem of 5th Army on the right side, and crossed rifles with the nuber 3 above and the letters TRB beneath. This made the liner more interesting, I am unsure what TRB means, in the British Army, TRB means Theatre Reserve Battalion. Could anyone shed some light on the colour/insignia. Many thanks.
