2 M1917 A1 recent score
I haven't posted anything here for a while. Shame on me! To rectify that I'm posting a recent score on this board first. Here you go guys!
First:
M1917 A1 double named, belonging to A B Gurrie, Major, Air Corps, Commanding.
Then to T J Rice Jr., 1233111, Ist A.F.B.C.
It's pretty mint with early McCord heat lot # 22C.
I assume it belong to the major first, and when the new helmets came avabile
he passed if off to supply to be ressiued. Or he gave it to Rice.
Much research to do here. I think it's just wonderfull!

Re: 2 M1917 A1 recent score
Next is a other M1917 A1 with a very heavy cork finish. This belong to a local Doctors brother that was station in New Guinea and was wounded four times while wearing it.
This came from a personal friend that is a long time helmet collector. He has more history
on it for me. He called it a "Batan Era" helmet. I like that.
So guys, enjoy some early US helmets.
Now to find that M1917 A1 Wake Island era with a USMC EGA...........
